History

Located on the site of a 19th century pharmacy that operated until 2016, Stam’s Luncheonette is continuing to carry the torch for a beloved Chestertown landmark.

For generations, Stam’s was the place you went to celebrate, to connect and to refresh. From root beer floats before Homecoming to birthday hot fudge sundaes or just a to-order, freshly made cherry Coke, Stam’s has always been a community touchstone and a place to enjoy the tastiest, simplest pleasures.

In 2018, the building was purchased and renovations began to give renewed life and a fresh look to Stam’s, bringing it back to its original appearance while updating the interior so we could welcome a whole new generation to the lunch counter and soda fountain.

Today, it is our honor to carry forward the Stam’s tradition—and to joyfully sustain our community with every banana split and grilled cheese we make.
